Turn Glue Into Cheap Paint

Right now with all the sales on School supplies you can get a lot of things for almost nothing. A little while ago I got Elmer's glue for .10 cents each. So I thought I could use some of my acrylic paints to put in the glue to make some paints for my boys. The best part is, that there isn't a lot of mess involved. All they have to do it squeeze the glue bottle to draw pictures, no paint everywhere. Great right? So here is what I did to make this supper cheap paint.
Get whatever colors you want to make and some white Elmer's glue
You have to dump our some of the glue to make it easy to mix. I dump it about to the top of the triangle with the label "Elmer's" in it.
(You need to shake like crazy to get it mixed, get ready for an arm workout)

Finished now you have some fun, cheap paints for your kids. The fun part is when the paint dries it is raised a little. Your kids will love painting and drawing things with these. Don't forget to follow my blog I will return the favor :)

Easy Sour Cream & Cream Cheese Chicken Enchiladas

These are one my husband’s top of the list meal choices. There are so many recipes out there for Enchiladas. Here is my way. It’s super simple and yummy.
Here is what you need:

A precooked chicken at the store (shred it all in a bowl without the skin), 2 Green mild taco sauce (the one in my picture is my favorite), a can of green chilies, half of a block of cream cheese (soften), sour cream, cheese and, rice (cooked) I never measure out how much sour cream and cheese I put in. I just eye ball it for when it has a good consistency where everything is moist. Mix everything in a bowl except for 1 of the green taco sauce and some cheese. You will put that all on the top before you put it in the oven.

This is the consistency you want after everything is in ( I taste as I pour in the grenn taco sauce, just put how much your taste buds like)

You need big tortillas and a 13x9 pan

I put a little sour cream and butter on the bottom so they don't stick to the bottom of my dish

Once you have them all filled with the filling put them in your dish

Pour the other green Taco sauce all over the top

Sprinkle with more cheese on top. Cook at 375 for about 30-45 mins (every oven is different) You don't need to do it long, just enough time to get the cheese to melt and get everything warmed. It is that simple. If you are a couponer this is another yummy and cheap meal. Enjoy :)

Something Every Couple needs

These are something every couple should get. My good friend Jackie used these on our car when we got married. It comes off really easy. She gave them to us after she used them on our car. My wonderful, romantic husband started writing me love notes on our bathroom mirror right after we got married. To this day we still write love notes back and forth on our mirror. It is so fun to wake up or go to bed with a note from my awesome husband. He has never repeated himself.  Even though you have to clean your mirror a lot you wont get sick of it. Try it, it is so much fun!!! It can be fun for kids too.

Cheese Can Prevent Diabetes

There is good news for cheese lovers. Dairy products are rich in calcium and vitamins known to help reduce the risk of diabetes mellitus. But of course must be balanced with a healthy diet and active.

Preliminary research by a team of European researchers say people who have the habit of eating cheese, 12 percent lower risk of developing diabetes than people who do not like cheese.

The study, published in the American Journal of Clinic Nutrition examines the extent to which the intake of dairy products affects the development of type-2 diabetes in eight European countries.

"Intake of total dairy products are not associated with diabetes. Consumption of cheese is one of the dairy products tend to have an inverse relationship with diabetes," said the researcher.

For those who do not like cheese, do not worry. Because the consumption of milk mixture is also associated with lower risk of diabetes, including other fermented products like yogurt and fermented milk.

Researchers could not explain why this correlation exists, but they suspect that it has to do with the fermentation process involved in making cheese.

Although the researchers did not specify the abstract conclusions which countries studied, the incidence of diabetes will probably tend to be lower for those with more active lifestyles. Researchers also confirmed that the reduced risk of diabetes in the population as a whole, not solely because cheese consumption only.

However, those who are already suffering from diabetes mellitus, consumption should be limited to the portions of cheese. American Diabetes Association recommends low-fat cheese as an option.

How to Make Nail Polish Last like a Pro

How many of you out there paint your nails or get them done and then in a couple days they are chipping, peeling and cracking? Well that happens to me if I don't do the steps I am about to show you to make your polish last a week +.

Here is what you will need:

buffer, Eponychium stone (you get one at Sallys) , color polish and top coat. (Only use a base coat if your nail surface is uneven). If you buff every time before you polish it will take any color off anyways. No matter what base coat I have tried over the years it always make the polish slip right off.

Step 1: buff your natural nail to take the top layer of shine off (don't buff too much, just take the shine away)

Step 2: A lot of people probably have never heard of Eponychium. It is part of your fingernail, it is dead skin that will grow up your nail shaft. You need the Eponychium stone to remove it. That way your polish want slip off. Just press lightly around your cuticle area and sides of nails. Everyone has a different amount of Eponychium on your nails so some might go higher up the nail then others.
You don't need to push hard with the stone, hold it at a 90 degree angle. It comes off really easy.

You can see the white flaky stuff around my cuticle on the edges of my nails that's what you want off. (Gross huh??) sorry I tried to get a good picture of it.

Step 3: Buff again. (Not too much though)

Step 4: Apply nail polish (2 coats)

Step 5: Apply Top coat (1coat)

Step 6: Use cuticle oil. (if you don't have any just use a little olive oil)

Enjoy!! Please come back for more posts, I would love you to follow my blog, Thanks :-)

Team of psychologists and studied for a year and to strengthen the observations, areas of the brain MRI scan of the participants as well. At the end of the study, the team found the growth rate to 2% of memory.

"People want to find a miracle treatment for Alzheimer's disease, but for the memory function, a pair of sneakers is perhaps more important," said Kirk Erickson was the leader of the research in the Alzheimer's Association International Conference in Vancouver earlier this week.

In addition, in separate studies, University of British Columbia psychologist found that weight training can help the development of cognitive impairment in older women.

It was obtained after observation for six months to 86 women aged 70-80 years.

Brugada Syndrome

Brugada syndrome is a disorder of potentially life-threatening heart rhythm. This syndrome is characterized by an abnormal heart rate and the special called Brugada sign, which can only be detected by an electrocardiogram test. Brugada syndrome is much more common in men than in women. The disease is rarely diagnosed in children.

illustration Brugada syndrome
illustration Brugada syndrome

The cause of Brugada syndrome
Brugada syndrome is caused by disorders of the heart. Each heartbeat is triggered by electrical impulses produced by specialized cells in the upper right chamber of your heart. This syndrome causes the heart does not pump effectively. As a result, not enough blood circulating throughout the body. Brugada syndrome is usually inherited, but can also occur due to structural abnormalities in your liver, an imbalance in chemicals that help transmit electrical signals through your body, the effects of certain prescription drugs or cocaine use.

Brugada Syndrome Symptoms

The most important signs or symptoms of Brugada syndrome is an abnormal pattern on the electrocardiogram (ECG) called Brugada sign. Brugada sign is a heart rate patterns were found on tests of your heart rhythm (electrocardiogram, or EKG). You can not feel the signs of Brugada ECG but detected. But some people who suffer from Brugada syndrome also show signs as follows:
  1. Irregular heartbeat
  2. Sudden cardiac arrest
  3. Fainting

Brugada syndrome
Treatment
Brugada syndrome treatment usually uses a medical device called a cardioverter defibrillator. The device is mounted cardiac abnormalities in patients at risk of sudden cardiac death. The small device continuously monitors your heart rhythm and deliver electrical shocks when needed to control abnormal heart rhythms. The procedure for implanting cardioverter defibrillators require hospitalization for one to two days. Sources: Mayoclinic

Weightlifting Exercise Can Slow Memory Loss

As we get older, a person's cognitive ability and memory will be reduced drastically, especially if you suffer from a number of problems or diseases associated with memory. But the actual conditions that can cause Alzheimer's disease can be slowed by a number of healthy and effective manner.

A number of researchers in Canada have found that physical exercise or sport that requires endurance is large enough such as lifting weights can increase a person's performance during a trial conflict resolution, attention and memory in some patients with mild cognitive impairment.

The study, conducted by a team of researchers from the University of British Columbia involved 86 women with mild cognitive impairment between the ages of 70-80 years.

These findings were presented in the Alzheimer's Association International Conference in Vancouver, Canada.

Another with the findings of researchers from the National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology, Japan. A second study found that 47 elderly people with language skills mild cognitive impairment can be improved when patients do aerobic exercise and strength training and balance for 12 months.

It also echoed other researchers from the University of Pittsburgh. The team found 120 elderly people who regularly exercise, but intense light walking can improve the condition of the brain associated with memory.

"Although sports like weightlifting and jogging may not be done all the elderly, but these studies once again show the importance of physical exercise for our brains," said Dr. Anne Corbett, Research Manager of the Alzheimer's Society as reported by the BBC, Tuesday (17/07/2012).

"We know that regular exercise can reduce the risk of developing dementia by more than 45 percent but in fact these studies show that the benefits of exercise is also true for people with cognitive impairment. Especially with the fact that in England alone there are 800 000 people with dementia so that such a study is crucial and could help the doctors to find the best treatment for patients with mild cognitive impairment and dementia. Fried Zucchini

This is one of my Husbands favorite side dishes. It is very simple to make. It is a frugal side dish, all I paid for was the onion batter mix which is .78 at Winco. I have my own garden so I used my own Zucchini. The other supplies I got FREE with coupons that I stock up on when its on sale or free with coupons. Here is what you need:
Zucchini of course, oil, California Style Garlic Salt, (don't pay attention to the Mrs grass onion soup mix), I thought I pulled out the onion batter for the picture :-)
This is what you need in replace of the onion soup. Onion Ring Batter mix. Mix it a little thicker than pancake batter, you don't want it too runny.

Cut up your Zucchini don't make them too thin or too thick

Mix together the California style garlic salt
(I like a lot of the California style garlic salt, just put how much you want)
onion ring batter mix
(mix it how the package says) I don't put all the water it calls for though

Get olive oil hot in a skillet
(If you have a deep fryer it is faster and easier, I don't have one so I just use a skillet)

Once oil is hot start dunking your Zucchini in the batter mix (I put as many that will fit in the bowl at a time, make sure they get coated all over)

Put them in the hot oil until golden brown and flip them

Put some paper towels on a platter and let them set up all the way. You can eat them just like this and dip them in Ranch
OR THIS WAY...(my favorite)

Freeze Dried Dill with Cotija cheese on top

Eat and enjoy by dipping them in ranch :-)

Here is what you will need:
Hawaiian BBQ Sauce (original one) 1 1/4 cups
Boneless/skinless Chicken
crushed pineapple small cans (if you are making it with chicken tenders only use one can of pineapple, if its breasts or a lot of chicken use 2 cans of crushed pineapple)
1/4 cup of water
1-2 spoons of brown sugar
Dried onions
Rice

This is how I layer it in the crock pot: water, sprinkle in some dried onions, chicken, BBQ sauce, more onions, pineapple, brown sugar.
Cook it on low 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours

After its all done take 2 forks and start shredding it. It will seem a little runny but when you add the rice it will soak up a lot of the juice. :-)

Add in your cooked rice. You can use any rice.

It might not look very appetizing but I am telling you it is VERY yummy. Serve just like this on flour tortillas.
You could add guacamole and sour cream but just plain is my favorite. It has a lot of great flavor just like this! Enjoy.

Bone Structure For Hairstyles

Ok so in my post about "What’s your face shape?" I said I was going to talk more about bone structure for the perfect haircut and style. Of course you need to keep in mind if you have cowlicks they will limit you. Don't EVER fight your cowlicks just let them be and your style will work so much better. Now with that being said, go to a mirror, pull your hair up into a pony or just off your face. Look at your face; you will notice that one side of your face is bigger than the other. You wouldn't have noticed until now that I am pointing it out to you. SORRY!! Lol. But, everyone has a side of your face that is bigger than the other. Some people have a more dominant difference than others. Pay attention from the eye down the cheek and jaw area, to the chin, that’s where you will see it.
The point to all of this is, when you part and cut your hair you want to keep your face shape in mind but, also your bone structure. So you want to part your hair with the part going over to your "bigger" side of your face. It will help keep your face symmetrical with an illusion. GO ON TRY IT. Do it on both sides and you will see what I mean. If your left side is bigger than your right side than part your hair with more hair on the left side. (I hope this makes sense to you) Over the 11 years of me doing hair I would point this out to some people and it made all the difference with their face appearance for their haircuts and style. Every one of them that I showed said they have never heard that but, they loved the advice and could see the difference. Go try it for yourself. (BUT remember if you have a cowlick on your more dominant side that you would need to part to, don't do it, you will always be fighting with your cowlick) I have a cowlick but it’s on my right side and my more dominant side is my left side so it works for me. Another fun piece of info on this subject, most people's less dominant or smaller side of the face is the side you sleep on at night. :) There are VERY few people out there that you can't tell what side is bigger. Here are some pictures of what I mean.

Tips Eliminate Tired After Work

According to a study reported in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, women who are "tired of work" is more likely to eat a lot of stress, anxiety or depression. Here's how to avoid fatigue during working hours.

1. The best way is to sleep more quickly. Ensure sufficient time istirat, at least seven hours per day.

2. Wake up, and then relaxation. Start each day with a relaxing rituals such as meditation, reading books, or just your body stretching exercises.

3. Learning how to say "no" politely. You are not a superwoman who can do all things in the office.

If the boss adds to your job, try to negotiate well. Maybe your boss was also not aware if you are overwhelmed.

4. Try to set the agenda of work, working on one task at a time. When you're really busy, turn off the email notifications that will only distract the concentration.

This will help reduce stress and manage your time more productive.

5. Do the things that provoke creativity when you are tired. This activity can be a weapon to restore morale.

If it is not possible to do it in the workspace, do as you're here at home.

Avocados Can Increase Fertility Women

If you are a young couple who are trying to get pregnant, are advised to pay more attention to nutrition and food intake. With nutrient intake and good nutrition, fertility will increase. Opportunity to gain even greater pregnancy.

One of the recommendations to be considered in improving fertility, especially in women, is to eat an avocado. Research has shown that the consumption of salad with avocado and olive oil mixture can help women obtain offspring. This applies especially to those who were undergoing IVF or in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

Researchers argue, monounsaturated fats found in olive oil, sunflower oil, nuts, and seeds better than other types of fat for expectant mothers. Those who get the intake of unsaturated fats have the highest chance of pregnancy is 3.4 times higher after IVF than those who consumed the lowest amounts.

In contrast, in women who consume too much saturated fat, commonly found in butter and red meat, egg production, so they tend to be less influenced IVF success.

The scientists believe that monounsaturated fats, which are well known both to the heart, can increase fertility by decreasing inflammation in the body. The results of this research will be presented at the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology in Istanbul.

"The best foods to eat is avocado, which is high in monounsaturated fat and olive oil," said Professor Jorge Chavarro, the leader of this research.

"This is the first time to our knowledge that fatty foods associated with treatment outcome in IVF," he said.

Prof Chavarro studied 147 women undergoing IVF at Massachusetts General Hospital Fertility Center. In his study, he found a link between the high content of monounsaturated fat and live birth rate. High intake of monounsaturated fats associated with a higher chance of pregnancy 3.4 times more than those who have had little monounsaturated fat intake.

"Different types of fats are known to have different effects on biological processes that can affect reproductive outcomes, such as the degree of inflammation or insulin sensitivity," says Chavarro, who adds that the fish remains the best source of omega 3 fatty acids, although in this study did not set out its contribution.

Summer Hair Tips

It's Summer time, everyone spends a lot of time outside in the sun and in swimming pools. Chlorine and Sun will damage your hair. How do you protect it in the summer time when swimming? Well its simple.  I have been doing hair for 11 years now and here is my tip. Before you jump in the pool get your hair wet and put a conditioner on to coat your hair shaft (this will act as a barrier and keep chlorine from getting into the cuticle of your hair shaft) When you jump in you will have some come off. It will not hurt the pool to have a little conditioner in it. If you have blonde hair, you really want to make sure you do this so you don't get that yucky green tone in your hair. Even if your not blonde and you have darker hair your hair will still feel like straw and get really snarly, which is from the chlorine (you just can't see it in your hair like you can on blonde hair but, its there trust me!) You want a pretty thick conditioner for this, not one that will just slip right off your hair. Some of my favorites are:
Even if you don't have Blonde hair this one is great because it is thick and will grab onto your hair really well
This one isn't super thick but it is still thick enough (it smells sooooo yummy)

TRESemme is the only store brand I would recommend if you can't afford Salon brands. It used to be in Salons years ago. Technology has and is always changing so Salon brands are much better but if you can''t afford them then try this brand :)

Now even if you are not a swimmer you want to make sure you use a deep conditioner on your hair once a week in the Summer. You will have much healthier hair if you do. :-)
